For State House
As the Citizen Advocate for the City of Vancouver and as the Governor’s SW Washington representative, Jim’s job was to listen to the community and solve problems.
Jim established the Clark County Juvenile Court’s Victim-Offender Mediation program and has been a volunteer mediator working in small claims court and on neighborhood cases.
Jim and wife Brenda are raising their two young daughters in Hazel Dell.
Current Occupation/Employer: Business Development for MacKay & Sposito (an engineering, surveying, and planning firm)
Significant Career Experience: Governor Gregoire’s local representative: I was the primary point of contact for any community issue or concern in southwest Washington.
Citizen Advocate for the City of Vancouver: I addressed and resolved more than 4,500 requests, complaints and concerns.
Mediator: I established the Clark County Juvenile Court’s Victim-Offender Mediation program.
Education: M.A. Peace Studies, University of Bradford, England B.S. History, Oregon State University
Family: Married for 13 years to Brenda and raising two young daughters. One will start second grade in Vancouver Public Schools and the other is in pre-school.
